change main menu language

Hello, i don't find any way to change the language for the main menu. Do i really need to change the language for the whole steam client or is there any other way? Your german translations there are just garbage.

You can set the language for subtitles in the game under the audio tab. You can also use the console command "cc_lang German" to switch language.

Please elaborate on your comment about German translations being "garbage."

i want to change the language of the main menu, not of the game itself. Honestly, the whole menu reads like it was translated with google translator. You want examples?

Black Mesa -> Schwarze Mesa (Really? #facepalm)
Cancel -> "Stornieren" instead of "Abbrechen"
On -> "Auf" instead of "An"
Duck -> "Ente" instead of "Ducken"

It's just ridiculous!

I will check with the team if German was truly updated using the new translations. The patch notes said French was updated but in reality, it was not; I will see if it happened with German too.

Why do i have to change my Steam Client language in order to get an english main menu for a single game anyway? Honestly, this feels like 2003.

Even using all these start parameters doesn't help at all:
+english 1 +cl_language english +cc_lang english +cl_reload_localization_files

Edit: Here are some more "brilliant" translations:

Reload -> "Neu laden" instead of "Nachladen" (OMFG!)
Input -> "Eingang" instead of "Eingabegeräte" or at least "Eingabe"
Bindings -> "Kontrolllinks" instead of "Tastenbelegung"
Back -> "Bisherige" instead of "Zurück" (This one is just as dumb as it can get, even google is better!)

Please do so, because it doesn't work at all. The parameters are set correcty, i can see it in the console after the game loaded, but the language won't change nonetheless.

The command line arguments for switching between languages used to work, but they don't anymore, so I can confirm this issue on my end as well.
