No offense, but you don't a chain of events very well do you? (evidence)
They stated right there why not just shoot him now? They considered it. They were supposed to transport him for questioning. They already reported that they have him. Command already knows, he is captured. they can't deny that, they reported it. Now they would have to explain how a restrained person got free and escaped and why they didn't go after him.
Revenge? They were sent to execute the science staff? Revenge for self-defense? What is there to avenge? Killers upset because one of the civilians they were sent to execute is fighting back? Who said being a soldier was fair or personal? It's NEVER personal, just orders.
It just doesn't make any sense. Neither does evading the cannon fire, gun fire and rockets from attack helicopters.
Senseless plot holes are fun, no one really cares that much about the plot, they find a way for it make sense.
good thoughts going in, but to ME, the cut scene was introduced merely to allow for ALL weapons to be stripped away, so you don't have it too easy for a while ? :o)
Then why not just kill him then rather than trying to capture him? Kill him and claim he opened fire? IF they were already upset about it why not just kill him then? Why go through the trouble of capturing him first? See? It doesn't make sense.
Though, to be fair ... why are we assuming the average soldier is smart? What draws most to the combatant portion of the military to begin with? They wanna be TACTICOOL! Wear some camo, pouches and carry a cool looking gun. AND IF they are SUPER COOL they get to wear a different beret, because they are EXTRA special. They believe they are gonna be darting around bullets whizzing by like Keanu Reeves. SWOOSH! WOOOOSH! returning fire in slow mo POW! ...... POW! ...... POW! more incoming, better dash then dive SWOOSH! ..... WOOSH! :) ANYWAY ...
So it would be completely senseless to go "Hey, let's capture this guy we want to kill ... OH WAIT! Now let's kill him" They didn't seem very upset about it, did they? They were joking and giggling.
Plot device to move him to another location with a reason to escape, doesn't make any sense. They could have just shot him right there and left him like the rest of the bodies. Claimed he escaped restraint, was dangerous and they were forced to shoot.
YET again, how would they explain how he got free from restraints while BOTH of them had him secured? Doesn't make sense. BUT the players would NEVER put that much thought into it, they just want to play a game, have fun.
