Moving controls don't work, can look around

Got the game recently, used this to get controller working

I've been tinkering about a lot to try and get it working well but something hasppened - I can't move at all.

The same applies for keyboard and mouse, so not just a controller issue.

I am only capable of looking around, frozen to the spot.

I've tried verifying the game, reinstalling and starting a new game - nothing works.

Any ideas?

Revert to the old menu.
Right-click the game in Steam, select "Properties", and in the General tab select "Set Launch Options". Type "-oldgameui" in the launch config.

I've had the same problem. I think it's to do with the input bindings getting confused.

When I started playing, I lucked out and managed to get it working with the new UI (without really understanding why)

Now it's stopped working again, but 'reset defaults' on the binding screen (with either new or old UI) seems to fix it.

For some reason though, I can no longer toggle zoom (just hold to suit zoom) and I can't shoot with zoom either... which is new. The UI for this game seems unpredictable.

You may be getting stuck in something. Hard to say for sure. You can get out by enabling cheats. But, that will disable achievements. Otherwise, you'll need to restart the chapter.

This was common in the original game. If you entered the loading area next to a barrel or a slanted part of the wall, you'd get stuck in it.
