It's a common bug that happens with unsupported hardware like iGPUs.
Well, do you have a discrete GPU?
Oh, crap, it must be that. Time to install it in another pc. Thanks!
I thought this was probably game design that way, for "atmosphere and immersion".
What's it supposed to look like?
Like here is a pretty dark room for example:

And then here is with the flashlight turned on. Can you even see the difference? There's barely little bit of light on the nearby wall and pipes only:

Do I have this bug too? Will verifying game files help with this?

after that it was fixed
it's just the 1st thing you should do to rule out corrupt files
I can hardly tell that you have the flashlight on, stairs are a hint different from what I saw and the pipes stand out more. It still doesn't look like you are shining a light on anything.
The flashlight should look like a normal light and see where you are pointing it. On my pc it looks like one of those old flashlights with D batteries...hehehe
And how that can be done? I thought the game weren't be that glitchy
Yeah, please.
Ha, in my computer It looks darker than Outlast, so it must be because of the iGPU.

If you come up to a wall or low ceiling in a corridor, shine your light and you should get that old style flashlight circle. Being closer to the surface and all.
It doesn't light up a room or anything.
Thanks, i've never had to do that till now :'(. Anyway, probably I'll have to install it in my another pc or wait till the quarantine over to buy an GPU for this one.
So just as the flashlight in hl 2?
