how long to complete main story?
i judge weather or not to buy a game of how long it takes to complete, if this game is 20 dollars but only has 7 hours of content its not worth it to me, but if it has 20 hours of content its a buy, so im asking you, how long does it take to complete the main story of the game?

also is multiplayer good?

It's your money. Though I will say I think the game is excellent, it's a steal at this price.

wish i bought it when it went on sale for 5 dollars lol, ill have to think about it, i dont like buying games that have under 15 hour completion time, i feel i get jipped all the time, and some games ill only playthrough once and probably never play again...

I've played through the game multiple times, got 76 hours in it. Linear singleplayer games usually only have a couple hours of gameplay, according to how howlongtobeat.com the average time is 12 hours.

It has some good community-made levels on the workshop and a multiplayer mode too.

If you know what you're doing, you can run through it in 2-5 hours. If it's your first time, or one of your first times, you're looking at about 8 hours in Earthbound, and another 7 to 9 in Xen. It's much longer than the 'real' half-life games. Hell, it might be as long as all of HL2, its episodes, and OG combined.

Fastest you can run through the whole game is 12-15 hours. If you are an explorer or completionist you can easily spend 20 hours playing Black Mesa.

To answer your mp question. It's old school death match and fun as hell. but it is currently dead'ish.

For the speedrunners it is like 35 minutes long.

For me that have bricks as hands... imagine tying your shoes with a pair of bricks,.. it's doable... but not fast... hehehe

What a stupid way to judge weather to buy a game or not. Why not judge the actual quality. Most games over 20 hours are padded out and don't respect your time. Do you feel ripped off when you go to the cinema for a 1.5 hour film?
This game easily has 20 hours of content for a first play through if you actually play the game to enjoy it and take in the world and you will never feel board or like you've done the same thing more than once and is just flat out one of the best experiences you can have in gaming. For $20 it's an absolute steel that anyone who considers themselves a gamer should play
