Easier solution: open config.cfg (located in Black Mesa/bms/cfg), edit the keys to your liking, save, and set the file to Read Only.

The new UI is the culprit, it has problems saving new keyboard settings. Just type "-oldgameui" in the launch config, change your keyboard bindings to your fancy, save and exit the game. Now remove the -oldgameui in the launch config and launch the game again, your bindings will work and you'll be able to play with the new ui.

THANK YOU! That made it easy-peasy. Also opened up some graphics options and a few other settings that got hidden in the new menu.

The font of the text appearing during the game is better looking, that's about it.

Ah. Okay, that's a reason. Plus, as long as it doesn't mess with my key and video settings, I'm cool with going "back to the future" with the new UI. ;)
