I ended up not unsubscribing from this thread and it was worth it, edgelords like this 'helmutcheese' are like those xbox team vs sony vs nintendo: act like they are "big on their high horses" and end up projecting themselves on others so they can make through their stupid life. Don't mind him
Already refunded the game, but I only use xbone controller anyway, could make it work once but even so there's no option for things like: axis inversion, controller sensitivity, not being able to navigate through options with controllers, and so on. I mean, I don't mind having to use other options like 'joy 2 pad' for older, pre 2010 games, when pc gaming wasn't a big thing, but nowadays it's unjustifiable for me. If the devs think it's not worth their time to add proper controller optios (they can make it in a few hours, I presume), then I'm not gonna spend a dime on their games.
Like you said: "you just have to reconfigure the buttons in Steam", that's not proper controller support, it's the same as using joy 2 key, antimicro, etc. I don't mind it for older games like Quake 4 (I still play to this days) which was made back in 2005. This is a 2020 game with little to no support at all, and like the other guy said in this thread, the version of source engine they're using for this game does have native support for controllers, but it's a dev choice to implement it.
Look here for a quick example how big picture works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnqX_Y170Eo
That's a workaround, and not proper support, like my answer to Xenomorphlover just above you, it's the same as using antimicro, joy to key, etc. but thanks anyway. Like I said before, if the devs think it's not worth their time to add it, then they won't have my money, didn't know this game exists until yesterday on a digital foundry video, bought it not even thinking it wouldn't have controller support on a 2020 game. Already refunded, may buy again later if controller work 'right out of the box' with a future update.
LMAO, what are you doing here? i agree with that other guy, turn your console on and sit with your big screen and humongous joy stick in your skirt. PC's not for you my man !
If you guys manage to bring proper support, and make it work 'right out of the box', I'll buy it again. Lots of people play on big tv screens, came from consoles, etc. I'd say it's pretty standard for pc games nowadays (except maybe for rts and online only games)
woops, another edgelord here, if you can't help, then be my guest and get the f#k outta here.
I know. The whole point of our recent UI revamp was to enable controller support in the first place. We think something might be bugged, hence the investigation. We will see what we can do to sort this.
And everyone - stop with the flaming and namecalling. It's childish and unnecessary. I'm going to start handing out bans if that continues.
I try to be respectful with anyone who comes and try to help, but some people just come here with the same comments instead of ignoring the thread if it's not useful for them. End up having fun with them. haha
