Crash after recent update
Cant open the game after the recent update. My game crashes as soon as I start it.

Hmm, something that we did to the UI recently must have broken it. I'll report this to Aleks and they'll investigate. Sorry for the inconvenience guys, glad we found a temporary fix for now.

Yup, same issue. Can't start the game at all. Crashes right after the Crowbar Collective logo.

Try verifying your game files. We've had some odd issues with the last few betas not validating properly. See if that helps.

Also, what are your system specs?

Have you been able to run the game successfully in the past? Which build?

I bought the game this week and was able to play yesterday until this recent update.

Verified game files. Didn't fix the problem, unfortunately. Tried to delete the cfg- and save-files as well. Didn't solve it either. And yes, I could start the version right before the most recent patch.

it is very important which components are in the system, if everything worked before your new update :steamfacepalm:
Great work with the f*ucking update. The loading time is nearly... infinite and after selecting my savegame, the game crashes with: can't load files, because of not compatible. What was the whole effort good for? We are now experiencing the early access version 1.0 and it all begins, where it started once upon a time. We in germany says: Au weia.

Yea the saves don't work. Have to start a new game.

Ok, I uninstalled the game and deleted the folder. After reinstalling the issue still persists. Crash right at the Crowbar Collective logo. It worked flawless until most recent update (the 1.8 GB update).

My system:
Windows 10 Pro x64 1909 GER
MSI Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon Mainboard
Intel Core i7 9700K @ no overclock
Gigabyte Aorus Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 Ti
32 GB G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4-3200 SDRAM
Creative Labs SoundBlaster AE7

Everything is up-to-date!

It's posts like these that make it harder for me to help you guys. What were you hoping to accomplish by writing this?

Obviously his system specs are important. The update isn't broken for everyone, so I need to ascertain what specific in his setup that could be causing the issue, so I can investigate it. What the hell else do you want me to do?

As for your issues, start a new game from the chapter you were on. Our updates break saves. This is well known. You'll live.

Could you please try two things for me?

Firstly - try launching the game with -windowed

Secondly - try launching the game with -oldgameui

And then could I also have your system specs, please?
