Update stuck at 97% - EDIT: RESOLVED

Anyone else having this issue or know what this could be?

When I hover over the Steam icon in my tray it says "working", in my library the game is stuck at 97%, and pausing, resuming, closing Steam, and verifying my files does nothing.

It's stuck at 1.72gb of 1.77 :/

Sometimes updates download, and then decompress, so it looks like nothing is happening, but, your stuff is just working. If its stuck, check task manager, and see if your hard disk/cpu are doing anything.

I hate to say this, but have you tried restarting your PC?

Happened with me too; turns out it was doing some sort of other "updating" (or I guess decompression according to STRY8993) in the meantime. Once the bar below the "Play" button filled up (example https://i.imgur.com/njHHZbf.png), it finished the last tiny bit of the download.

I was just panicking a bit cuz nothing seemed to be happening, it was taking a while, and Steam didn't give a clear notification. When it continued to do it even after closing Steam I was concerned. But it's all good now.

As a side question, what is different about 1.0 from the version I was just playing the other day? I've looked and can't seem to find many answers.

You mean what is diffferent from pre-1.0? Well, for one, the whole Xen was added. :)

You mean what is diffferent from pre-1.0? Well, for one, the whole Xen was added. :)

Well, Xen was added even before the 1.0 Beta releases.
