Agree with this. The hazard course for both Half-Life and Black Mesa (sadly still absent from Black Mesa Retail) puts Gordon through an obstacle course and he learns how to use firearms too. The announcement system reminds people to stay fit in case of emergencies. Gordon's job also seems to be lab monkey in addition to his theoretical physics work. It's not out of the question to assume Gordon exercises a lot and is pretty fit.
I hope AA7 has more Athena in it!

If we went by your logic, the 6'1 210lb guy who I know in the marines is obese despite his BMI being around 9%
