Thank you for an amazing reimagining of Half-Life & Xen
Finally got to sit down and play through Xen (already played the Earthbound levels half a dozen times through), and it was full of so many thrills, sights and discoveries that kept me enraptured from start to finish, end boss fight felt also pretty well handled, not obscure or too obtusive, everything felt pretty well signalled to the player and though it was a bit hard for me it also allowed me to feel a bit like a badass.

Now there were a few bugs and unpolished bits, crashed a few times after first encounter with Gonarch when you're following it, most often crashed if I tried to get a sneaky rocket at it to chase it off as you can do so which I liked.
And performance was uneven, chunks of all chapters that ran at 60fps, but then segments that halved the fps here and there, better performance in Interloper (probably because of less geometrical complexity and indoor environments), and boss fight stayed mostly above 40fps with parts in 60fps. Biggest drop in fps was oddly the last controller fight before reaching up to Nihilanth, when they pull down your lift with their telekinesis and surround you one last time (when you're ascending that long tower with sections of controller battles), that's when the fps really dropped for some odd reason, to 18-21fps and stayed there until the map transitioned to the quiet section before reaching Nihilanth. There was an autosave that bugged out at the door there in map transition where I got stuck right at the door, but sv_cheats 1 + noclip solved it.

But hopefully you can still work on evening out and balancing the performance, you've done a great job already getting it better since the beta started.
Thanks!
Well earned Overwhelmingly Positive reviews right there, now I need to think of what I want to say in my positive review!

EDIT: Oh, loved the longjump, and with the massively expanded levels, the opportunities to use the new movement felt so good for someone with a love for retro FPSs, just longjumping sideways and backwards all the time feels so smooth!
And the new playerfriendly "autocrouch" where it feels like you have a smooth minimalist ledge grab at all times just made a lot of platforming sections feel more rewarding, whenever I missed a jump or my height was clearly not enough it always felt more like obviously my own fault.

And appreciated the sections that allowed the Tau & Gluon cannons to shine more, get more use out of them.

Hmm, now to wonder how many secrets I missed...
(Probably all of them)
