I know that 'cause I spent quite a while on the second phase running between the healing pool and charging rock before I realized I needed to shoot the yellow crystals he pops out of the ground to heal from.
If you're at the end phase of the fight where he just throws everything at you in a frenzy, all you need to do is keep moving and keep shooting it. Its attacks do a lot of damage but there's a lot of supply caches in the room and with a little luck you should be able to reach them before you die, then keep shooting. Eventually his head splits open like in the original Half Life, as Terra-BITE already mentioned.
im on normal rn. considering restarting it but i was on the second phase and thats where the real difficulty showed up. from what ive noticed you can flank around the blue lazor beem that has the shield and shoot it there but it just gets another attack going that you need to dodge and theres like 4 supply caches total and i already went through all 4 at the start of the second phase
1. any way to actually dodge the lazor beams?
2. any way to dodge those op wrist laser thingos?
3. any way to heal yourself after you use up those supply caches?
thanks lol
And yeah if the laser beam has its own shield then we are both talking about the same part of the fight.
1. Probably if you're very good at using the longjump. I think I managed it once, but I hadn't used up the supply caches yet.
2. You can try to go under the wrist lasers or try to slip through a larger gap in each one.
3. Never needed to find out, unfortunately. I exclusively used the healing pool and charging rock during the first part of the fight and then just barely made it through the end using all the supply caches I could find and spamming gluon gun/rocket launcher as much as possible. I think I may have returned to ones I'd already partially used 'cause I think some of them have more stuff there than you can carry at once.
Only other thing I can think of was that I tried to get a full charge of health and suit power before destroying that last yellow crystal and triggering what came next.
Sorry for being so lengthy. I can't see through your eyes exactly what you've done... I only know it can't have been the exact same thing I did. So I just hope my words might stumble across something that gives you an idea. :)
most of the time people dont understand that you can actually edit the information in the quote so people just have 4 quotes all with like 4 paragraphs each of text wall info
...did you shave?
.........
Sorry. That was too good to pass up
Something relevant I forgot to say earlier -- I remember it didn't take more than a minute or two of shooting after the second phase of the fight began for Nihilanth's head to start opening up. If you're lasting significantly longer than that and nothing's happening, you may be having an AI bug... others have been reporting bugs with other AIs in the game since the latest update so it's certainly conceivable.
