Launch with -safe
And reset the graphics

I am not sure if I did it right or not but I typed "-safe" in start up options my game started with the lowest res and a tiny frame. I still have no 1080p

Now change it in the graphics options. Make sure the widescreen (i think that's what the checkbox is titled) is checked.

I also just tried deleting the cfg file, then I searched for missing files and it downloaded the cfg files again. I solved a problem with the game called rust just like this before but this didn't work for me. can you please tell how to launch with safe because that is not a must know for everyone in my opinion

You will want to remove -safe

You can also force a custom resolution in the Launch Options.
Use -w XX -h YY parameters to force a custom resolution
example -w 1024 -h 768

-safe did exactly what it was supposed to do. see my post above for more info

Cool, glad you got it working.
That should not have had to be done that way, my guess is the tickbox in the graphics options is not checked enabling widescreen resolutions.
But as long as it's working all is well.
