HD weapons official release?

In a news release by the Operation Black Mesa team they describe how they plan to incorporate both classic and HD Half Life guns and giving the player the option to choose which guns they want in the setting screen. Is there any plans for this in the official build of Black Mesa? I would really like to play Black Mesa with the M4 assault rifle without having to rely on potentially broken mods.

As for different weapon models in game, probably not. That's what mods are for.
