Ethically Questionable

I've been trying to complete the Ethically Questionable achievment, but it's stuck on 4/5. I already interacted with all experiments, but one of them doesn't trigger. Why is this happening? Help me, please.

You did not do one of them correctly. (carefully watch the walkthrough posted above)
The first time you shot the laser you could have unplugged the shield.
Or you did not fire the snark cannon enough times.

Restart the chapter from the New Game menu (don't use your old saves ) and try again.
There is nothing wrong with the achievement.

Are you talking about the shield protecting the wall?

Yes, the first time it must be down and the blast kills the headcrabs in the pet carriers.

Did you release the toxic gas in the Xen recreated area where headcrabs can be found and a healing pool is also located?
Because I remember missing this piece of the puzzle when I played for the first time this level map.

Sigh. I'm sorry I deleted the post I just made, because then I could say "please re-read what I wrote". I quite clearly stated that I'd watched the walkthrough video that is IN THIS THREAD, and had done the experiments AS THEY ARE SHOWN.

Yes, I shot all the snarks at the target. It's not difficult to keep hitting the button until they're all gone & the door opens. Nor is it difficult to gas the grunt, tesla the bullsquid, and leave the shield plugged in when you shoot the laser.

I actually just figured out the issue, and it had nothing to do with how I performed the experiments... which is why I deleted my post. It was only after deleting that I saw your snarky comment (pun intended).

The actual problem had to do with the sv_cheats command. I had set it to 0 *after* starting the game at the beginning of the chapter, and kept on playing. Normally that allows achievements, but for some reason it allowed the 4/5 on the gassing but not the 5/5 for the entire thing.
I re-set it "0" within the saved game, then re-loaded it with "0" on. Bingo.

I had this problem a while ago when I was getting all the achievements. I'm going to install the game and try this solution you gave, it's one of the few achievements I'm missing. Basically, do I have to start the chapter with the sv_cheats command at 0? I'm not very clear on that. I know it's been 5 years since the last comment here but I have nothing to lose by asking.
