Weird noises when moving mouse coming from computer.
I thought of playing black mesa again, the stable version without xen stuff and when I move my mouse my computer makes noises. As soon as I close Black Mesa the noises stop.

I've tested this with Doom 2016, Guild wars 2, Blender, Devil Daggers, Subnautica and a bunch of other games. I can't replicate the same issue I'm having with Black Mesa. The noise is physically coming from my computer and not through my monitor which has built in speakers.

I've googled this and began troubleshooting from other sites like tom's hardware with people who had this issue, but they all either resolved it by switching usb ports or their mouses and I get the same noise even if I change ports and mice.

I'm at the part with the three tentacles in the rocket test chamber. I didn't get this physical noise from my computer before that either.

I'm sure people will say it's a hardware issue, but like I've said, I've tested other much more demanding programs and games without replication. Is this some anomaly that anybody else has? I'm afraid to keep playing because it's quite alarming.

It might be coil whine coming from your GPU, check youtube video if it sounds the same or is similar. If it is it, it's not harmful in anyway just gotta live with it, my gpu has some, it's pretty common

I think this is exactly what it is. Linus Tech Tips shows his card whining (truly). After youtubing and searching that, I've seen some other videos that simulate the exact same buzzing noise when their gpu's are under load and are literally the same gpu aswell.

Thanks for the help. I find it curious because it literally only happens with Black Mesa. I'm at a loss why, but I'll just use headphones since it's very irritating.

Hmm... that is very interesting, as the new Xen levels are one of the few times i get coil whine myself. It only seems to be the xen levels that triggers mine, but thats also the section with serious performance issues (Which should be part of it being beta as non xen runs flawlessly)

I wonder if Black Mesa, or maybe the Source engine used, is just very good at proccing Coil Whine...
