Black Mesa Mouse Look NOT Working
Two days ago the mouse "LOOK" function stopped working. The mouse buttons still work but not movement. It does not work with any mouse or touch pad. I have reinstalled the game and even installed on a second computer with the same result. This game worked fine for the first few days. The mouse works fine in other games including Portal and Half-Life.

You have a corrupt config file. Turn off stream could, delete the config file and verify game file integrity (Turning off Steam Cloud prevents the bad config from being downloaded again and verification replaces the missing file with a good copy.)

What is the exact filename and extension? Which directory? How do I turn off Steam Cloud?

To disable Steam Cloud synchronization, follow the steps below:
Open Steam and navigate to your Steam Library.
Right-click on Black Mesa and select Properties.
Select the Updates tab and uncheck the Enable Steam Cloud synchronization option.
Click Close.

location <path-to-game>/bms/cfg
Not sure which cfg has keyboard/mouse info, I'm not at my computer so I can't look them up.

But you can, use https://notepad-plus-plus.org/ or something similar to view the files.

It's probably named something simple like config.cfg

Thank you! That worked on both machines.

Ahh, you should always have cl_mouseenable 1;cl_mouselook 1 in your autoexec.cfg file.

Lets not obfuscate the issue that just got fixed.

You're right, all Keyboard, Mouse and several other controller settings are in the config.cfg file.
But there's more than one and the config.cfg is being changed while starting the game.
Just deleting it should solve the problem...
Several commands within the config.cfg file get changed as soon as the game is started.
A Problem many players had to use a 'workaround' for years now to be able to have several settings 'locked' into their config.cfg.
But that's another story...for another day ;-)

Thanks for the help, although I speak Spanish and I had to translate everything, it still served me !! Thanks a lot.:steamhappy:

They have changed update options in Black Mesa properties so the fix is no longer doable.
Maybe I'm not seeing it. As long as I don't tab out too long, free mouse look works. Pause for too long and no free look when I come back.
