willy wonka easter egg?
after the first portal in the beginning of the second level of the beta there is a point you can long jump across to a dead body for extra HEV. in the left tunnel behind the body you can find a hat that looks very familiar..

It's the same purple hat you can find in the game and get an achievement for by tossing it into the portal at the end when you travel to Xen.

i don't have the achievement though! how is it here?! i remember seeing that hat earlier in the game now that you say that.

The Purple Hat is in the beta for Everyone. It's there for fun.

i found it at the very beginning after the cascade failure in the walkway for tram arrivals. in the corner behind the pipes left of the main door.
