"Beneathacle"
On the Xen chit chat thread a fellow mentioned a barnacle variant called the beneathacle and showed a screenshot of its textures. As he put it it's an underwater barnacle that I assume pulls the player down into the water towards its mouth to be eaten. Was this inspiration derived from the cut sand barnacle that was to be featured in Hl2's Coast sections?

I'm with ya 1v, I just love what CC is including in Xen, I hope it won't take like another 2 months to complete, in all honesty CC's Xen is all I've been looking forward to in these troubled times in my life. Looking forward to seeing Big Mama...

What worries me about the game is that the new beta is having lots of bugs :(

personally I have the sounds missing one which is really game-breaking, and the flashlight one, only allowing it to work in certain parts of the maps, and not the entirety of them.

Not sure about the Houndeye cacti relation, pretty sure they're separate, however I too await with great anticipation for the full xen experience they did state it would'nt be too long but I'm not sure what that constitutes. In any case I love CC's work and regarding the missing sounds glitch im pretty sure everyone has it given the new build.

I wonder if the beneathacle will be able to interact with ichthyosaurs if they're in the same body of water.

I'm betting it's going to appear in the rest of Xen and or Gonarch's Lair.
The idea of the Beneathacle reminds me of the Sand Barnacle from the HL2 Beta.

exactly what I was thinking Sirbeary, I own the book Half Life 2 Raising the Bar. And I read up somewhere they cut that enemy, what a shame.
