Why are you so hostile? No seriously? You act like this forum is YOUR playground and if a topic isn't for you that you should just shoot it down. He opened the topic for discussion, not for a 100% lets demand it, grow up.
As for OP.
I don't know. Honestly the houndeyes and the reasoning didn't make much sense to me and they felt out of place overall. If they had the houndeyes as being explosive when they are babies like that, makes sense.... whole unstable energy thing can make sense but maybe build a nest for them to be in and have a parent guarding them? Or just add chumtoads... they could hop and explode if the player gets too close and would fit well into the new Xen BM made.
As for adding the others, gonomes don't feel out of place and that would make sense to me but the whole Race X stuff with the drones and shock troopers didnt make sense.
But anyway, overall I feel like the only one that should be added in is maybe gonomes.
I prefer they add the alien turrets.
There's no such thing as Black Ops in original Half-Life.
Excuse me, what about the female Black Ops assassins with double silenced glocks? They appear before Freeman gets captured by HECU and in Lambda Complex (Or right before it) I believe.
Edit: From official forums "The Black Ops first appear in Sector E in Half-Life during the chapter Apprehension, and later make one more appearance in Sector F, during the chapter Lambda Core. Only Female Black Ops are seen by Gordon Freeman in the game."
What I meant, in original Half-Life there was no Black Ops faction, it was added/introduced by Gearbox in Opposing Force. Female assassins was assumed to be part of the HECU, especially after the apprehension encounter It was kinda obvious that they work together. The term HECU itself, was also introduced only in Opposing Force. In Half-Life was called as soldiers, army, or marines. There was no mention of HECU.
Now Gearbox decided to divide them into two groups for mainly gameplay (having human grunt foes), and story purposes.
The new Alien Grunt type will replace the grunt currently encountered in Black Mesa. But that's about it. The Vaughtigaunt from Xen may replace the one's found on earth, but they would be default hostile on earth like it is currently.
HEV zombies are only on Xen.
Controllers (flying bhuddah round-heads) however I don't know. They are only seen in Lambda core on earth, so they might just be replaced with the Xenian version similar to the Grunts.
Houndeye's in Xen a mystery too, got no idea what's gonna happen there. Depends, do they explode only because they are in Xen? That sorta thing is for the devs to decide. I'd be interested to know why there ae exploding ones now. Similar to lambdent locusts in Gears of War maybe?
The Xen variants of the Vorts/Agrunts might make it to Earth at some point (as they're basically superior to the existing versions in every way), but that'll require careful balancing and adaptation on our part. We might be tempted to just leave it as is.
