There are some great mods (almost full games) and many standalone chapters with multiple maps.
As far as i know theres no mods that add more enemies to the game in a way that makes them more difficult. However there is a realistic damage mod that changes damage values and tweaks some things to make the game harder. Although you are going to have to move around some files in your bm folder i you want to get it to work, the instructions are all on the workshop page, im pretty sure the mods called "realistic damage" or something.
Or just open the singleplayer maps in hammer, and add as many extra npcs entities you want.
