Is Xen located in the milky way galaxy ? Or is it somewhere else far off in the universe ?
I've been thinking about this ever since I saw the trailer for Xen

Xen is in a different dimension.

Or in a more accurate sense its a dimension that's used as a subway to other dimensions

It's just on the center... the center of all things... the bridge between dimensions, realities, universes, and what no human can ever imagine... :V

it is outside the ordered universe, in the center of absolute chaos. Where the boundless demon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes. this is where Gordon, the chosen, must go to awaken him, and bring about the return of the Outer Gods, and salvation for all.

It could be in the Milky Way galaxy, but a different dimension. It's right here in the same space, but you can't see it or hear it. Like if Mr. Spock were there he'd have an evil beard...something like that.
Which makes me wonder...does Gordon have a beard in Xen? :-\

Every time someone mentions the Milky Way Galaxy I get hungry for chocolate for some reason.

There is probably alien life somewhere nearby anyway, really.

Candidates and Confirmed in Habitable Zone 1, 3
(180 K < Equilibrium (T) < 310 K) or
(0.25 < Insolation (Earth flux) < 2.2):

*361

1 This is the number of planets in the Kepler Field where the stellar host was observed by the Kepler Spacecraft. Not all of these planets were detected or discovered by Kepler.
3 Kepler Project Candidates are all KOIs marked by the Kepler Project as a CANDIDATE in the KOI Cumulative table. This includes planets that have been confirmed or validated.

And this is only nearby (relative to the size of galaxy) that has only been detected yet, they are going to search for extra solar planets that are closer as well soon. I think Kepler was only looking for planets beyond 50 light years away but not too far off to detect.

Edited:
Oh never mind I guess I was wrong about only detecting star systems 50 light years to however much further, the closest that was in its field of view apparently is only 11 light years away.

The irony is that in the Half-Life universe, other civilizations are right next door, only a portal away!

In Snickers galaxy I guess :)

They should name Galaxies after candy bars, make it a tradition :p

I just looked it up. The Milky Way candy bar was flavored after a popular malt shake of the time, in 1923. They named it after the Galaxy, so the Galaxy got the name first.
