Generally speaking, the move to 64-bit technology only increased the amount of addressable RAM, and increased the ability for more precise representation of numbers. Great for physics based games, not sure about something more akin to an FPS running Source, though.
I could be wrong, if a more knowledgable dev wants to come slap me for misinformation.

Well then it seems the game is definitely utilitzing 64-bit technology, as I highly doubt a game engine would want to deal with manual paging (And I don't even think that would show up as using more than 4 gigs at one time)
Mind you guys, the devs are utilizing the source engine. I'm pretty sure Source has been 64-bit capable since 2005. Also pretty sure BM is taking advantage of this where it can.
