I have had a few minor issues in terms of NPC audio not coming through on my desktop PC, but I'm on the beta build of Ubuntu 16.04 (Linux), myself.
But to answer your question from a customer's perspective, Window's perspecive, and Linux perspective - It should run on your system just fine.
In terms of the audio error; I'm still in the process of looking up possible solutions from your previous thread. - Hoping to help you out soon! This game's soundtrack and audio is unreal; so I want to make sure you can get back ingame ;)

------------------------------------POSSIBLE SOLUTION #1-----------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Close STEAM
- Navigate to Steam/steamapps/common/Black Mesa/bms/sound (Steam being located in either in Program Files x86 or /home/.steam depending on Win64 bit or Linux, not sure about earlier)
- Delete "sound.cache"
- Restart STEAM
- Launch Black Mesa and run "snd_restart" via console
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------POSSIBLE SOLUTION #2-----------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Rght click Black Mesa, navigate to to "Properties", "Local Files", and "VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE..."
Occasionally this will download missing or corrupted files (such as the .ogg music files)
It's not regular audio that i'm having trouble with, it's ogg files.
VC 2013[www.microsoft.com]
VC 2010[www.microsoft.com]
1. Then why does it say messages through the console about it?
2. I already have microsoft visual c++ 2012/2013 redistributable.
3. I didn't have to do this with windows 8.
But I'd check out what he suggested anyways. - Windows 10 is nowhere near as polished as the last few OS' that they've released... - I think they pushed a little too hard with making tablets, PCs, and other devices all try to work together.
Worst case scenario it updates your redist packages to the newest ones available and you're out nothing.
I installed 2010 but now it says "Failed to create decoder for MP3". I have redistributable 2013. I don't get it!
If you are using any sound mods, these may also be a potential culprit. Try to unsubscribe to them.
I clicked on the Setup for 2013 and it says I have it already, then it goes on to say to either uninstall, repair or close. I clicked repair just to see, but then it brought to a screen where I feel like it would take too long and fail. So I cancelled. I feel like messing with it would break my computer or something. So i'm not even going to bother. Thanks for the help but I usually just use the hl1 soundtrack and have it played in the backround.
