Tutorials and tools for a furniture mod?
I may just be too blind to see information that's right before my eyes, but I couldn't find a hint about how to create furniture mods. Has anybody written some kind of instructions on that topic yet? What tools are recommended for creating the models?

Just in case somebody stumbles over this post searching for the same kind of things:

Not a lot of information, but it's the only thing I found so far. I also was told on reddit that the best tool for creating the models would be Blender whcih you can download free from here:

Actually, I kind of moved on to other games in the meantime, but thanks anyway. I now feel that I should play Software inc. again some time - it would be interesting to see how things have changed since my last playthrough.

If you check out my workshop items, i am having a blast modding. Blender, paint and notepad is all you need to have loads of fun. I started with the donut and coffee cup blender tutorial on youtube by bleder guru, and reading all the wiki and official forum entries for furniture modding. Fun times lol Hope you having fun in your new games anyway mate.

I've checked out your workshop and like some of the items, especially the desk :) Is there any way of putting a texture on it, so it looks like a wooden desk ? Yes I can colour it, but it looks plain all flat.

Yes ofcourse there is. Not only can you put a texture on it, you can bump map it, occlusionMap it and play with metallic and glossiness of your textures. Just need to be careful and balance the load of your object on other computers. So an object that looks realistic might crash the game. Never tried it lol
