Some of it is possible in the game, like not allocating enough resources, but for the sake of not pissing off most players, most projects will run smoothly if you do your part.
There is a very simple contract mechanic in the game right now, but most of the time you will be your own client/releasing your own software. I have plans for more company interaction, e.g. take/give work from/to other companies, trading IPs, etc.
The software design mechanic of the game is still somewhat simplistic, you pick a software category, some features and there are some practical options, like open sourcing. I want to expand on this mechanic, but I'm still a bit unclear on how it should work.
You can buy a DRM free(unlimited use license key) version from the main website, Swinc.net . I don't currently have plans for release on other distribution platforms.
I loved Game Dev Tycoon by Greenheart Games and hope to find the same enjoyment in Software Inc. Based purely on the screenshots and trailer the gameplay already looks quite in-depth and I hope to see it expand further. :)
I like the gameplay! The demo seem rather complex when I first tried it, I didn't know that I make could products like Art visuals and audio visuals off the bat, I thought that I could only do the contract work since how long it took to build a computer (Which I didn't realize was "operating system" at first). Also like how the employees act with their traits, being all demanding and stuff. I look forward to the release of the game!! The demo showed that it was a lot more than I thought originally.
I will give a review once I see it at it fullest after the release.
In the past GOG would rarely (never?) accept games which were still heavily in development (early access). This changed at the start of the year with the introduction of the "Games in Development" program[www.gog.com].
Also, as a general rule GOG is a lot more restrictive than Steam and tend to only accept submissions of games/developers that have a proven track record. Now that your game has been available for longer you have a lot of positivereviews on Steam. If you were to include this information in your application I believe it will help too.
Otherwise, I've also just posted a GOG Wishlist entry for Software Inc. I'm not sure how much it helps but I guess if there is enough interest (votes) hopefully we will see some progress on getting the game put on GOG:

I did submit the game to them shortly after they introduced Games in Development and I did link to the Steam reviews. In all honesty, it might simply be a case of me mistyping my mail address, though I've never had that happen to me, but they do claim to respond to all submissions, even if they're rejected.
