Asking for raises too often and illogical amounts
My employees seem to ask for a raise almost daily, and sometimes they want a lower salary than they are already on. When I don't give it to them, they are upset. I suppose I don't mind if they want a decrease but quite frankly some of the higher wages they are demanding are way out of proportion to the contracts available to work on, and to the amount of experience they have! I think they should ask for a raise only once a year on average after a successful request (every 3 months if I refused their last request), and for most employees it should be a reasonable one. Obviously to make the game interesting I wouldn't complain if the occasional buffoon tried their luck.

I think they tend to ask for more if they are dissatisfied with their conditions. I give each 2 see through desks and a plush chair and I put the latest, greatest computer for them to work on while the other holds a lovely plant. For every 6 people at least one toilet perhaps 2 , one refrigerator, one cofee machine (though this not always seem enough). Some paintings on the wall and enough cleaning staff to wipe the grime off the floor.

Happened to me too... kept getting those "pay me pay me!" popups on my screen saying they wanted to quit their job.. now i'm speaking having over 100 employees, in a big giant building. with all the accomendations they need..... It forced me to want to quit the game and start over..so now im starting over.

I agree this is one of the weirdest and most annoying aspects of this game. perhaps a set, small percentage raise should be given automatically and it should go up a bit per increased skill throughout the relevant year. so there's a small raise if you have maxed out employees and a slightly larger one for more educated employees.

but we also educate those employees so it's not like it should be a massive upgrade in salary either. overall just a part of the game that seems like a good idea but is really not either fun or realistic, so it needs to be overhauled or removed in favor of something else.

I have small groups and the annual pay demands are about 2-3%. Few total employees. Good chemistry with all employees. Clean rooms, decorated and lighted. Food, quality coffee and toilets available, low noise in rooms, only one group per room.

I have 7x7 office with 6 see thru desks, haven't made it to 1990 so still original PC, 2 bathrooms, 2x2 ea with a 4x4 break room. There's barely enough decor to bring the room up to 100% and when it goes down to 70%, at end of day I call cleaning crew so they'll stay till finished instead of leaving at noon. Once in Spring and again at Fall, I also call maintaince and IT crew, at end of day. The side the desks are on (facing outside) are wall windows. Breakroom has a fridge and cappachino maker and a couch, and every room has Heating & AC. (the 7x7 reqs 2x each) Office has a bookshelf so they can gain XP.

I play 1 day a week, so I hire them sometimes on day 4. At midnight they ask for what I hired them on for, sometimes less, i just click ok. They don't ask again till they hit 1 year.

There is a cheat if your employees ask for raises in December. Change all of their roles to something they are not skilled at. They will ask for less money. If they are happy, they should only ask once per year.

Is this still present? I added forced wage negotiations when you change employee roles, so the cheat shouldn't work anymore, since when you switch them back they will ask for a new salary at the end of the month.

I changed some employees roles and they did not ask for a salary change at the end of the day (1 day per month). Also, one employee is reported to be 'making' -$13,222 a month. Do you want the file?

I play the game in Sandboxe mode to understand the game.. this is like literally the 4th time I've restarted because of my mistake of trying to learn the game.. Playing 5 days 1 month isn't fun!

The easiest way to start is to just have a founder and not hire anyone. Hiring people can put a large drain on your cash. Costs are low if you just have a founder. Hire a cleaner, maintenance guy and IT person (all temporary employees) every 3 months or so. The time to create an OS is dramatically increased now, but you can make good money with a visual and audio tool if you get your founder trained up (do a contract, train founder, repeat) and aim for great quality software (and if it is important and in demand and the founder is trained up).
