YEAR 2009 - No more competition?

Will changing the difficulty to medium increase the AI companies? I am 20million USD worth and growing but there are only 5 companies left including mine. I no longer get X deals from other companies and their worth is all below 100k.

What does medium and hard mode differ in?

i'm in the same boat.
In 2013 I'm getting bored to buy out every small company, but they are very very small, and didn't sells very well.
i'm around 70mil dollars worth and the game is over for me at this point. there's no point to continue. i'm bumping out my OS with new game/programs so i made 2mil/month sells outdated OS.

ahh...forgot to say, I play on medium.

I didn't even buy out any companies. In fact!, I even bougth stock from them just to give them a little boost or breathe in some life into them. There are only 5 of us in the market left. I may not even be able to reach to 2011. Too bad, I was planning on expanding some more.

Yea my OS that ive mad since 1997 was still making 200k/month on my medium gameplay that what kept me going until I gave up and just switch to easy. I think that is why there are only a few companies left.

Yea, the competition mechanic needs to be worked on a lot more but it is only in Alpha so yea...

i ended my game around at y 2020 my stock value was 300mil. company worth 150mil. No ones left. This game it's like an RTS ^_^ build your base, destroy the enemy ahahaah

Once you build that final OS with all the options I just make things for it. I have made it to 2090 and the OS was bringing in about 27mill a month. Company was at about 2 Bill value. This is on Medium and 5.2 patch.

You can create your own software.

Example, you can have a new OS in 2020 say - Quantum OS - crazy hard and takes a normal OS to make it. XML is your friend!

Wait gotta confirm for the life of me, In my scenario there are only 5 companies left. IS IT POSSIBLE for the game to generate new AI companies? or to keep generating them? I want to be able to keep playing. Did you start at 80's?
