Buying Companies
Supposedly you can buy companies in the game... Anyone know how to do that? Or has that feature not been implemented yet.

Go to their stock page, buy all of it you can, then finally buy their primary stock (at the top of their stock list).

Although at the moment it seems somewhat pointless because you only get their IP. You don't get their employees, which would actually make it more worthwhile.

Do IP's even do anything? I could easily create my own.

If they have famous/well selling IPs, you'll get the flare of them becoming your own. To offer a horrible example, Bioware makes Mass Effect. Everybody loves it. Goes freakin' bananas. EA buys out Bioware's stock. They now own Mass Effect. The sales based on the name alone are now theirs.

Yes. They are. NOW. EA bought out Bioware. In real life. That's why I used it as an example.

The logic on buying companies still needs some work to be worth while. It makes more sense currently (7.7) to buy any IP you are interested in rather than over paying significantly for the entire company with the only added benefit being one less competitor producing products, although keep in mind other companies producing quality software for your OS can increase sales of your OS, and producing a game or tool for a good competitors OS will usually yield good profits. The more competitors you eliminate the more you will depend on your own product pipeline for all your profits and opportunities.
