I can't do anything
I just downloaded the game and got through the company set up bit, when I went to build mode the screen was as it should be but when I select anything like "build a rectangular room" the selection doesn't stay selected & the cam spins off out & upwards like it's become untethered or something & the grid for building disappears. It was doing something similar when I was making selections during the character set up part but when I selected back on the ground it went back to normal & I could still advance through it, now in the main game it still goes back to normal when I click off the HUD but because the selection of build a room doesn't hold I can't even get to the point of having built a building to start my company in. It seems to happen regardless of whether I'm using the tutorial or not & in fact happens when I click the continue on the tutorial (althoug it does advance the tut it does that weird cam thing). I don't know if I've missed an option somewhere and am just beeing a noob or if this is an actual bug but I've watched let's plays and not seen this happen & couldn't spot a post in the discussions of anyone having the problem. I'm running windows 7.

Can anyone help me, please?

Sounds really weird.
Could you make it happen again, exit the game when it happens, go to the install folder and under "Software Inc_Data" copy the file output_log.txt and send it to SoftwaresInc@Coredumping.com ?

Hi Coredumping, sorry for my slow reply. I feel a little silly: after my orignal post I downloaded the game onto my old laptop and it worked fine, so I've been playing on that and only just came back to look at what might have gone wrong now I have a better feel for things. It was still doing it and it felt almost like the cam mode was randomly shifting. Since the one thing I'd done differently was that I'd changed some key bindings on my win 7 machine but not on the older one, I went into key controls to see if I'd accidentally screwed something up, and that's when I realised what had caused it. When I'd been redesignating keys I seem to have accidentally selected the "toggle cam mode" and then instead of pressing the tab key again (or any key, I guess) to undo it, I think I must've assumed that clicking it again would deselect it but didn't check it; what it actualy did was assign my left mouse click to that action, so everytime I was left clicking something on the screen it toggled my cam mode. Which I'm finding quite amusing in hindsight. And all because I had to change some keys to allow for not having a number pad on my keyboard lol. Perhaps something to come out of this is a suggestion that it can't assign the anything to the mouse buttons that are already used for vital functions in the game or a pop up warning of what the effect would be?

Because of this mess up on my part though, I also, I discovered another potential problem caused by my redesignating keys: I'd designated floor up & down to my shift buttons & obviously those are used for selecting multiple items but I didn't know that at the time & you only find out when playing because it's not in the list as a key you can rebind - if I hadn't played it on my other laptop then I wouldn't have known until I tried to figure out how how to select more than one thing lol. So perhaps either a block on designating shift to another function or it could have a popup saying what those keys are used for and asking if you want to continue to reassign them or maybe at the top of the list of actions/keys you could have the ones that are necessary functions & can't or shouldn't be changed (EG "select person/item = left mouse click, but it's greyed out so no option to change it)?

Anyway, just hought I'd let you know I'd figured it out and post a couple of ideas to stop someone else making sily key binding decisions/misclicks like I did. :) This is a great game, I think I'm addicted already.

I had no idea Unity treated mouse clicks as keyboard presses. I have made it so you can rebind the shift key and the mouse buttons.

Cool, thanks :) I guess a lot of little things like that will only make themselves obvious when someone makes a missclick or something
