Trait advice for different specializations?
Hi everyone,

I was wondering what you are looking for when choosing a specialization (e.g: Designers, programmers, etc.)
I saw someone mention Capaciatot for programmners, focus for designers, etc. Any tips what I should be looking for?

Capacitator is an all-around the best trait, because it gives you ability to run 10h shifts, so it's a 25% increase in production. This is my main trait for any team.

Super-focus is second best, because it gives additional speed bonus when working on a single task. Why is it second, because it is applied only to teams that have one task at a time - Designer, Accounting, Research, Patenting.
Teams for Marketing, Support, Programming/Updates usually work on a several task at a time.

Big Brain is good for Designer or Programmer teams, since they remove the cap for skill points in the primary skill. Cap for Design, Programming, Leadership have cap of 9 skill points (with Big Brain it's 15, 3 for each of 5 skills), where Art, Support have cap of 4.

Other good traits are really if you want to add some flavor to your game, otherwise, these 3 traits should be priority.

Born Leader I use for Project Managers, since they will only do PM which is basically only Automation (it is strongly recommended not to assign PM Leaders from regular teams)

Hardware is only good if you are pursuing consoles/phones, and want to use that "Optimize Hardware" 3* feature (so you can order units for the same price as manufactured)

Fast learner can be used for teams that can have 1* employees, mainly for Support, Marketing, Porting/Updates, so they can level up faster.

Alright, very nice. Quite indepth.
So then regarding the definition of task with Super focus: Does it mean: Someone who does support and works on 2 projects, will first finish 1 project and then the second?

Opposite. If the employee have only one task to work on, he will gain the speed bonus, BUT if he has 2+ tasks to work at the same time, he will actually get PENALTY to the speed.
So it's not all positive trait, but a double edged sword if you do not understand it.
That's why I said only for teams that will always do only one task at the time, if you lose focus and give them more, they will work slower.

Cool, that is super helpful. Time to put that into practice :). Thanks a lot

One more question: I am trying an impossible start. Would you give your solo designer:
1. Big Brain + Capacitor
2. Big Brain + Super Focus
3. Capacitor + Super Focus

I do option 3, capacitor plus super focus. Let’s me run the founder on 10h shift on constant crunch. Works like a charm.

In general I think Big Brain, according to my play style, is overrated. It’s great of course if you want to max out the skills for one single character, but I usually build companies with >1000 employees over time, and the usefulness for anyone being great at a bunch of things goes away. All my best people are super specialized, so I never see the point of big brain. It also takes forever on impossible to learn skills, so I don’t even see how I could get any proper use for it.

Ah, that makes sense then. Cool, thanks for the info.

I also with option no. 3, because it is really hard to find Capacitator+Super Focus employees through ads. Also, 10h + speed bonus are what is needed for the start.

Big Brain + anything else beside Super-Focus is better for employees that are complementing the team, and not for the core Founders.
Also, as Angk already said, every time when team is lacking certain skill, it is easier just to hire another person, than to rely on Big Brain maxing out skills (it also takes several years, even decade)

Alright, thanks for the info guys. This should help me quite a bit. :)
