Creating follower
Hello,
what is your marketing plan to create follower for a new software? I mean what´s your time schedule (Release date, press etc.)?

Well, the time schedule depends on software + features and the size of your staff. It's really hard to say, usually I just go with my gut. If it says it'll take "approx 2 years", then I put release date something like 3 years away to be safe. But if you have publisher, they make that decision for you and you have to make that deadline. (you can always release it before that if you publish on your own) For the followers I think that hype and releasing a press build for your software is the way to go. Writing a press release is mostly just a waste of money in my opinion and it takes waaaay too long. I'm not sure about this, if I'm wrong hopefully someone corrects me. Hope this helps ;)

I play 1d/month, so I created optimal teams for optimal development. Since also I'm playing on hard difficulty, new software starts with 0 followers, and it takes 4 sequels to get good recognition and following.

With higher difficulty, marketing recognition and fans are built slowly, and marketing one software for more then 15 months (unless it is OS) is unnecessary. You can check this when using outsourcing marketing for your projects, when the game is "Less than one year" described, release date is about 15 months from your start of development.
The best way to get fans is to create most quality software, follow with sequel every three years, and that's it.

For individual software marketing, I usually do first 3* press release after phase one of Design, then second 3* press release when starting development. When dev is finished and I promote software, next is "Press Build" and that's it. Press build is the most important and biggest one, it will boost highest followers for the software.
Since teams are killing development, it takes around one year to design, develop and market my new software, so I also set right away release date to be around 15 months.
However I can release game earlier if it's finished, without penalty and before Press Build starts to slow down.

Games states that every press release has lesser impact than the previous ones, and there is also caution when sending two press releases during one stage, that it will backfire and you will get news You Company is spamming, and start losing followers.
