fire inspections overview
would be nice to get an overview of the rooms that need improvement after fire inspections.
atm its a chore to find the rooms you forgot your sprinklers/firealarms as after the inspection it just shows you 1 room.
an "fire safety" overay lwould help alot

I agree a fire safety, or hazard, overlay would be a nice feature, as well as more details about a failed inspection.

I have managed to recover from a failed inspection, clicking on the notification
it jumped to the effected room, I would fix that room, repeat
Then you go into the Insurance tab (think it's under the loan/investment option)
In that tab you can call for another inspection

I feel like an idiot... there IS an overlay.
Go into Build Mode, then click the overlay button right above it (looks like 3 layers), choose what you want to see.

JimB66,

That's great information!
Been playing since the first alpha release and didn't know there was a security overlay!
I have only ever used the Temp and Sound so I could do employee happiness

there is a firehazrd overlay yes, but it doesnt give us any information about the failed inspections nor it helps to highlight the affected rooms
i didnt knew i could call the fire inspector. but thats pretty tedious to do it room by room when yopu technically should get a list from the inspector where you failed

It would be nice if the fire hazard overlay actually gave relevant information. I've spammed my office with fire sprinklers, and still failing inspections. Perhaps an "area of effect" indicator on the sprinklers, or something that can show coverage or lack thereof?

For fire checks, you must have Fire Alarm in every single room (yes, even hallways) and that's it. Sprinklers are required only in printing/server/kitchen.
I use my own designed rooms with Fire Alarms, so I just need to add them to hallways when moving to new building.

I must have something wrong then, because I quite literally have a sprinkler over each desk, several in each hallway, kitchen, canteen, etc... I'm still failing the inspection with like, 14 violations lol.

You are just missing fire alarm in 14 rooms then. When clicking on failed inspection notification, it should highlight rooms that failed, that's how I found out what was wrong.

You only need to have one fire detector/ sensor, and one sprinkler in every "room" (any 4 wall enclosure with a door)... that includes hallways, stairwells, etc. It doesn't matter where you place them. I've even simply put one of each in the corner, and passed fire inspections.

Yep, my game is glitched hard then. I click view, and it highlights my entire building, despite having sprinklers all over. Time to start anew.

Bill, a suggestion>>>
In every room where you put an light source, put a sprinkler and smoke detector with it.

Perhaps a better one, when you are making rooms, save them as blueprints (I save mine based off floor grid - 4x5 or such) and then you don't have to guess whether that room is covered with your favorite toys.
Ykario Jan 15, 2023 @ 1:44pm
If your room is 10m² or more, you need a fire detector in it.
That's pain to do when you forget about it, tbh.

So, yeah, an highlight of "which rooms failed" would be lovely.
Maybe a modder out here could do it, it doesn't sounds that hard ? The usual " /!\ " saying that "This room is big, you should but a smoke detector in there." and "This room have some flammable material, you should put a sprinkler / smoke detector in it"
Bill Jan 15, 2023 @ 5:45pm
Yeah, I didn't realise that the smoke detectors were now a requirement. I had always just gotten by with the sprinklers... So when I went through and added a whole bunch of detectors, solved my problem. Thanks folks.

I see that there is now an overlay to see the results of the last inspection. Rooms are colour coded based on the finding (Missing smoke alarm, missing sprinkler, stairwell access) Just wish I could find how to request a fire inspection ... that seems to have moved ?
