How does distribution work?
So I set up a distribution server after making quite a lot of money from my 7th software, I have full bussiness recognition and around 6 million fans. I was wondering, how does these things work, I've linked it to my biggest server and all but I have no idea how they work. I can't seem to raise the popularity of my store no matter what I do. Is there anything i can do to raise the popularity of my store?

The way it works, in the beginning anyway, is that the popularity will obviously be really low since it is a brand new distribution channel, there's no way to market it, and you are the only contract. So as bad as it seems, the only way to make it popular is to focus your own popular products to go through your distribution channel. The less other distribution channels you use, the more popularity your own will gain. However, while you are the only contract, you need to keep pumping products into your channel, otherwise, it will quickly drop in popularity again. Also a thing to note, the amount of servers required to run a proper distribution channel might surprise you. By the yea of 2000, when you can get the 1GB/S servers, i had a distribution channel with 6 contracts (Myself included here), and the popularity was around 15% (It keeps dropping and increasing at this point, so don't be scared if that happens), but i'll have you know that i had around 80 of those servers... And sometimes the load on them was above 85%. So be prepaired.
Also another thing. Keep in mind that when you start out with this, keep the revenue you get from the channel as low as possible. And also keep in mind that the less other distribution channels you use to boost your own, the less sales you have. To put it into perspective. I would normally make 2 million in sales a day on a game. When i switched to ONLY use my own channel, the same games was only selling for 60k in the beginning, so be prepaired to have a lot of backup money to run on while you build up the popularity of your channel.

I probably wrote too much already, but i hope it helped ;)

Thank you! Wow, this was much more complicated than I first thought, I just thought that all I needed was fans and that would be enough. So I should basically save up as much as I have, make sure I have enough servers and I'm willing to buy more and then just starte shelling out product after product untill my popularity is enough for other people to start using my servers. From what you said, it seems that I will be making less revenue in the short run, but a lot more if I can survive till the long run. I have to try this out. Thank you again.

Ofc amount of fans help, because then when you market your games ect, they will know it will only go through your channel, boosting it faster ;)
And you're very welcome ;P
Also a thing to note. The popularity will drop and increase all the time and so will the amount of contracts, even when it's fully know (this is a thing the dev are working on), and also, it doesn't seem like you can get more than around 30% popularity, which is sligthly more than the most popular of the stores ;)
