GPU (RX 6700 XT) temps getting extremely high
Hi there

My RX 6700 XT gets dangerously hot (90-115 degrees T_Junc) when playing Software Inc. on anything over Low settings (V-sync enabled, 1440p) and the fans start spinning super high.
Other games (eg. Hitman 3, AC Valhalla, Far Cry 6, etc.) only goes up to 70-80 deg.
I believe that there is optimization needed!!!
OS: Arch Linux (Running Native version, but Proton also gives the same temp.
Branch: Unstable.

Generally: Your GPU should never go over 80C even when it is 100% used. The issue is not with optimization of the game, but your pc or gpu overheating. Either your cooling inside the pc is problematic, or depending on the gpu age, the thermal paste of the gpu might be bad (though some come with bad thermal paste aplication when bought, which is why some people even replace it on new cards).

You can benchmark your GPU with tools like FurMark. If with full load it goes that high, your gpu is the problem.

The max T_Junc (Hot spot) for RX 6700 XT is 110 degrees, when running OCCT Stress test for 10 min, it goes to 105 degrees while the GPU temp only rises about 20 deg to 75 degrees. When playing Software Inc. the hot spot goes up to 115 degrees, throttles down to 110 degrees, up again to 115 and so on until the game is closed. It is the only game I own with this behaviour. Therefore this post. (Also ran the game on W11, same result).

i have a 6800xt and have noticed this as well, i turn the setting preset down to high from ultra and that seemed to fix the issue, so try that.
