Ceiling lamps

Why can't I place ceiling lamps over other objects in my offices without getting an error stating it can't be reached by my staff? In my experience most ceiling lights are operated by a switch by the door.
Is there a reason why this can't be replicated in game?

This is about maintenance staff. Everything that is using electricity must receive maintenance and that is why it must be reachable for them. So sadly, it is curerntly not possible to mount them directly over objects. But hopefully might be possible someday :-)

Ahh, maintenance, I never thought of that. I guess standing on desks and swivel chairs is against health and safety protocol.

If that's the case, me as a tech should be imprisoned already
I suggested that at least the radius for reaching it could be increased to make it possible for some better builds. Hope that will come someday :-)

this issue is so annoying!!! and doesnt make sense! the ceiling should be free to place anything anywhere! in small rooms its worst

Maintenance can't move tables or use scaffolding or bridge ladders or telescopic bulb changers...

Eg, it's a game issue, not a reality issue.

Hopefully someone will make a mod that ignores the warnings and allows maintenance to clip furniture, to reach lights. Or, better yet, make lights never need maintenance.
