Why would i wanna make an in house product
Why? I understand an in house product would deny other companies from using it but it would Also deny me selling it, so If i made a game engine that was a good quality with everything new i could either keep it to myself and let another Company cash out on a new game engine or i could cash out maybe 50-100 million myself, and when it comes to things like operative systems or games i really see no need. My people Are gonna work not play video games when there at work. Does Anyone know of potential Benefits to making in house products?

The benefit is making other companies develop their own and then making another product that depends on it, so you have time to pump out a triple A game packed with features to the brim while other companies are still scratching their head on how to make an engine as good as yours

Well id rather make dozens of milions from a game engine and dozens of millions from a game then only make dozens of millions from a game

Then that's your personal preference

Imagine a situation.

You make GameEngine. You monopolized market. You are the last company who makes the game engine.
Buy out a game Subsidiary.
Now make another game engine release in house.
In couple of years, other game companyes dies out, so you monopolized another market. Swiming in money.
Of course you need to take care about start ups, but in a position of 100+ megs company, its piece of cake.

good stratrgy, i didnt think that far tough that takes time, in my most recent save im gonna try to make about 20-40 games a year :D so i kinda dont think its worth it to check for startups all the time considering its so easy to make money anyway but thats just lazy me:D
