Support / Law in A11?
I think I am missing something big, but I decided I was going to research the 1985 framework with my support / law people yet its been 3 years and no progress has happened. I've made sure their specializations were correct. What am I missing?

I haven´t made much research yet, but shouldn´t it be done by designers?

There is a specific subtype of Service employee for Law, which includes patents.

But first, you need to do the research by designers, than make the patent by lawyers

Alpha 10 actually is the latest official build.

But you can try out Alpha 11, which is in testing branch.

Look here, how to join the testing branch https://steamcommunity.com/app/362620/discussions/0/451850468365603095/

When you start to research something the menu shows you exactly how much and what kind of employees you need. In this example the game advises me to use 13 level 3 system designers (https://imgur.com/a/4YX9yag). You probably could do it with less, but an employee without 3 stars they can't research it.

You don't need any lawyers at that stage. That comes after you are done research. Then you have the option to patent it, this is where the lawyers are required.

Thanks! So basically I need a super team of designers on staff to be able to task them with the design/research phase before using a smaller team of lawyers to do the actual legal work... ?

Correct!

Seems this is fully answered but to put it in simplest possible terms. You research with design teams and once they're finished you can file for a patent with 3 star law employees.

thank you
