There are a lot of similarities between Software Inc.'s UX and that of 90s sims, albeit with 21st century QoL improvements in most areas.
I played this game 240 hours for the last 2 years. Its not like Im new to this game. Everytime Im playing this game again I see insane amount of possible improvments to do. Even if I go throught changelog in Alpha 10 then Im only thinking why was these windows made in any other way in the first place? They are obvious flaws for person that played long enough to have big company.
Just read this again and you should see how laughtable this statement is (and exacly proving my point). You have to spend "only" 2 hours, so the time enough to never be able to get refund, to get comfortable with terrible UI this game have. Its not like in any other game that is considered good that learning UI is easy proccess that cant go wrong and the time you need to actually learn this depends on how much complicated this game is (and belive me - this one isnt really complicated).
You expect to know ANY game like the back of your hand in 2 hours? The UI is very easy to understand, it might take a couple hours to start remembering where everything is without having to take a few seconds. If you're worried about refunding a $14 game then you shouldn't be here. You can tell within the first 2 hours if you will like this type of game.
