What mod(s) should I play with?

I'm having trouble deciding what mods to use for a new playthrough? Is there a combination of mods that you guys think works best? Is it okay to use the Hardware mod along with a software mod? I really want to start a new game but I want it to have a really good mod or set of mods. Thanks!

Would it be bad to plug my own mods right now? MostlyKidding. SIX is pretty good, anyfin too, so is Hardware Mod if you want to play a company that creates both software and hardware, though it's a bit off from how it actually would be, seeing as the game is built for software development. Not sure which of those are compatible, mostly swap between them each new save. Basically the highest rated ones are there for a reason. There's also a good selection of furniture mods out there.
