Software Inc. or Startup Company
While looking for a new good tycoon i feel very attracted Sofware Inc by the screenshots, reviews and some gameplay videos, but just found that Startup Company was released as EA a few days ago and the screenshot and gameplay looks promising too.
If any of you have played both of them i would like to read your opinion about that, which one do you prefer?

heres the Starutp Company store page:

Get both :D
Startup company is really fun and I would recommend it in a heartbeat. Both Startup Company and Software Inc. are themed around the software industry, but that's really where the similarities end, so it's difficult to compare them gameplay-wise.

I've got.. 300? Hours into SWinc and won't be ditching it anytime soon. That being said, I'm super excited to try out Startup Company, it looks pretty good. They all remind me of the old biz tycoon from back in the day.

Startup Company just has started into Early Access, but you can already play around 8 hours in a single savegame.

Both games may be the same from the first look, but they play different, because of the different gameplay styles.

Funny thing, I was considering buying Startup Company when I accidentally found Software Inc.
To make the story short,I decided to buy it instead. I sense MUCH more potential in Software Inc. as a bissim, Startup feels more like a time killer (aka Angry Birds, etc) to me.

That's what you get when game developers are actually gamers themselves! :)

I've put in about 100 hours into Software inc, and about 30hrs watching YT lets play of it. I'm really enjoying the game, much more than I thought I would. So many different tactics to do in the game to make money and different ways to make it challenging for yourself too. It's very detailed and the graphics are not top notch - which for me is perfect - I prefer detail info rather than pretty pictures in this type of game!

I admit, I've not bought Start Up Company - but it's on my wish list, I've seen lets play of it, and it does look promising, but I think it's quite a bit behind Software Inc in features, but so was Software Inc. two years ago!

If you're looking to help out the Indie games market and have the time, then get BOTH, enjoy and feed back to the developers, they BOTH have done a great job and it's only with our help they can do it better. It all depends on how much time you have to give to these projects.

I would suggest you watch some lets play of both games and then decide which might be more to your liking if you only want to go for one. Below is the channel I've been watching, he has a full 77 episodes of Alpha 9 for SoftwareInc, and currently doing StartUp Co series.

Both games play differently, at first I thought it was a carbon copy, but it's not!

For a game dev to say this about the competition, shows they are different and I'm sure both devs have played the other ones game so they don't stop on each others feet!

Enjoy! which ever way you decide!
I bought StartUp company but I quickly realised this was not what I was looking for and got a refund and bought Software INC instead.

StartUp company is pretty good, but a bit more classic and I got disapointed by the fact that everything has to do with crafting pieces togethers to achieve the final product.

To be fair, you should try it. You can get a refund within 5 days if you haven't played more than 4 hours so...

I have both.

I bought my copy on Humble Bundle and redeemed by coupon on Steam today (8-16-2017).

The developer for Startup Company is on Discord so you can get answers quick. https://discord.gg/hovgaardgames

Go with Software Inc for now, it will take a lot of your time, then when you fancy a change, buy the other one!

Hope you enjoy it as much as we all do!

I actually bought both, returned both, then bought this again after having seen the super series by Conflict Nerd. Actually I returned this due to some hw issues, not because I found it bad.

Summary. This game is one of the best sim games I have played and it's only alpha. Startup is more like someone said, time waster and phone style game. This game is in the same impressive league as the Sim Cities and anything else Will Wright made. This is actually a type of game I could have imagined Will Wright making, that alone is a great testament :).

Can't wait for next alpha :). Please give us a whiteboard, what coder can live without them?
