The biggest Server Farm yet.
In total I have about 15k servers after continuously running out of server power. I literally left my PC and had a cup of tea whilst it connected the 11k server

Get the "Big Server Rack" mod. This mod is from the developer of this game. These servers will take double the space, but they have 10 times the bandwidth. You can save 80% of your servers with this mod. :D

select all of them, I usually right click the floor in the building, right click select entire building, then shift click a server and right click again on the server and select "select matching furniture in room" then once everything is selected I right click the server and click the wire icon which connects them all together

Really impressive.
I wish I understood to play the game well enough and build something like that.
All i can build is a small house a few computers and a few staff and that is typical where things start to go wrong. Mostly I can only make a profit on the most basic contracts that I can do my self or with help of 1-2 people, other than that no success.. but i figure it out sooner or later. waiting for the next patch release and then i try again :)

Once you have a decent amount of money and can operate for a few months without making any money, try making your own product. It helps if it's the first one on the market and has as many features as you can put on it. Also check that you aren't releasing something around teh same time as another company. I think people tend to start with the 2D editors.

I've had to make a new game afrter installing a bunch of mods, starting from the 70s to give me time build my empire by the 2000s

It may only be 1975 but I'm going for all out domination, it costs around 450K maintenance per month http://imgur.com/a/OtBt9

what is the point of that i've never had any issue running out of bandwidth?
Gopher Aug 13, 2018 @ 6:18pm
Is there a way to utilize the servers more? I have found you can offer digital hosting to companies, and you get deals once in a while for hosting but there doesn't seem to be anything remotely utilizing the late game servers

So this was before the larger servers came out and I started to dominate very early on in the game. A moajority of the badnwidth came from support and distribution. I eventually took over the distribution market with 60% of all sales going through my distribution channels by the year 2000. This was all vanilla aside from a couple genre tweak iirc.

yes but what's the point of that? Can it actually be profitable in comparison to software development? The amount of digital distribution that gets offered to you through deals is very small, and companies only offer you 1% or 2% return on their sales

Oh god no, you make almost nothing from it. I was making barely more than it was costing to operate. The unintended benefit of the improved distribution of my own software was it ascended in popularity and sold a greater volume due to the improved reputation of my company. I believe things to do with reputation and distro affecting sales have been tweaked however I haven't had a serious playthough since 0.8a I think
