Skills question
Very new to the game. I tried googling for a guide / help but was unable to find one so I thought to ask here.

My question is: When accepting contract work how do I find which "features" correspond to my character's skills and understanding?

Let's say the contract's feature list has "Commandline". How do I find out which skill this uses? Is it Design -> System? Code -> System?

Or how about what does it mean when the infobox has "Artists - 100%" ?

My character seem to be failing most contracts because he cannot finish the design period in time and it's quite frustrating to not understand which contracts are good for him and which are out of his area of expertise. Surely there is a help tooltip to figure out what contracts play to his strengths..?

Thanks..

go into the employees window, and click on him, you will see what skills he has. Then you can select which contracts you take to begin the game!

Thank you for taking the time to reply, but I'm afraid you might've not correctly understood the question I have. That is, how do I find out what features use which skills?

Say that there is a Logistics Application contract which features "Commandline". How do I figure out which skill and which subskills this contract needs? Because right now for me, it's more trial and error to figure out what contracts I can accomplish within time, whereas I'd like to understand from the get-go if the contract has nothing to do with my character's skills.

Or for Example, if there is a Game Assets contract with "2D art"; but my character has 2D design abysmal, but 2D Art is excellent, does this mean he won't ever finish the design phase in time? Etc..

"Commandline" uses programming and design skills. "Artists" 100% means you can develop the product using only your artist skill until you advance it to beta, then you have to use your programmer skills.

At the beginning, use onlyyour founder or you may run out of cash quickly.

I educate my founder in his/her weakest area using one month of education when the game starts, Build a 1x4 box and put ac/heat, server, computer, 3 tables, espresso machine, clock , bookcase, sliding glass door for entrance. Educate your founder after each contract.

It may be easiest to take contracts that require 100% artist. There is a delay phase when you go into beta (switch to programmer here) but after that, there is virtually no time before the product is ready for release.

All good advice here but I have the same issue and I don't think anyone's explained it yet. For instance how do I know the skills being used when I see third party support, command line, and GUI in a contract. Where would it say I need the System Skill, or 2d/3d art? Only way I know now is selecting those in the Software Designer and seeing the skill associated in the pie chart.
