Lazy courier
Is it normal that the courier that I hire works less than the one I call temporarily ? He collects 2 boxes then just ends his day regardless how much more there is to collect.

I'll increase how many boxes the permanent courier will carry in the next patch, but yes, the on-call courier will be more effective but cost a lot more and you'll have to micro manage.

I think couriers can only carry a limited amount of boxes. If they get too much, they'll leave early.

Or else they work for UPS ^_^

Was this patched? It still seems like the permanent courier only picks up a few boxes in a shift. I have them working day and night and hardly making a dent in my 5mil unit Deal. I still need to call temps

is there a limit to what type of box they carry ? I mean if I make a software, they will carry that box but anything else they seem to ignore it so if I have a deal with a company for printing copies they wont touch them like the plague

This is super extreme, so it costs a few thousand a month to move a couple of boxes, which is literally useless...LITERALLY usesless.

Micromanaging distribution is a real pain, I shouldn't need to spend thousands to LOSE massive amounts of money on distribution...

Your staff couriers can each manage about 50 boxes a month. Divide that by the number of days you play (rounded to the nearest whole) to figure out how many they will each take once a day. For example, playing at 4 days / month they will take 13 boxes each per day, playing at 7 days / month they will each take 7 boxes per day.

Large print jobs will need more couriers, set to arrive every hour maybe, so it's a constant flow. Designated parking spaces will also help keep things flowing smoothly. The Distribution screen itself tells you how many boxes you are producing each month, and how many you can transport each month. Hire or dismiss couriers accordingly (I tend to hire one or two less than strictly needed, so there's always stuff in stock for them to take immediately upon arrival).

It's really not that difficult, nor is it possible to actually lose money unless you hire way more couriers than needed or don't meet the delivery deadlines for your printing deals.

But if it's really too much of a headache to figure out, just hire a single temporary courier as & when needed. They will take everything you currently have in stock and charge you per box. Doing things this way rather than using your own regular staff couriers will cost you (very roughly) about 25% more for transportation, but even on the lowest-paid print jobs you will still make a profit on the deal if you deliver the final copy in time.

Sorry for necro, but is this subject to change meanwhile? In my most recent gameplay i'm employing 240 couriers working 24 hours (they take almost all the parking lots) just to keep things going (doing contracts obviously)... it's 1982.

I got 8 times more couriers than other employees.

Sorry for necropost (again since someone else did the same).

But, when are couriers being changed up? The permanent ones are just about useless compared to the temporary ones due to the permanent ones only carry 1-2 pallets before leaving.. While temporary will carry 20-30+ pallets before leaving.
