Digital Distribution (Alpha 9)
I may just be ignorant to how to properly do this, but once I set up a digital distributor I made deals with all the available companys for 5-12% cut of items sold. I was making around 2 mil in revenue from digital sales but my internet bill went from 1.3 million per month (lots of hosting deals) to around 7.8 million per month. This effectively made it extremely unprofitable to host digital marketplace for other companies. Is this a balancing issue or did I simply not as for enough. At the current rate I assume I would need around a 70-80% cut from the companys I host.

I didnt even know u can make online distribution deals... never got that option,
only hosting deals for my servers and physical distribution deals.
how/when do you get those?

When I opened an online platform where i sell my own products, it lost me money initially.
It is costly but as long as u have ~7+ products to sell at any given time, it seem to be very profitable.
There are no tutorials so i cant be sure what exactly it does, but i think it might get the sale numbers up a little for each product, so maybe u need several of them to make it profitable. ATM i sell 10 products, have 70~+ market share and make 100~mil per month income.

My experience with Digital Distrubution has been a reeeeally heavy loss on startup that slowly (depending on how many you approach, could be years) evens out to a nice, steady profit. Everytime you approach another company, costs seem to go back up; not worth it for a startup company, wait until you have quite a bit on money.

Also, you can normally convince the other companies to go 1 - 2% higher than they initially offer.

can u plz share how to "approach another company" to get a digital distribution deals?

all i have is other companies approach me via receptionist, and i get no digital distribution offers from it...

Click on "All companies" on the bottom, select a company and then there is an button with "Make an offer for digital distribution" (or something similar to this).

I recall CoreDumping mentioning somewhere (might be in Alpha 9 notes) that Digital Distribution is scaled vs Physical copy scales to reflect what actually happened in reality, as we know Steam didnt exist until 2003 for example and until then we pretty much all bought games physically, most of us probably didnt start with steam till after 2010...

To be honest, I thought the old distribution system was removed completely. I discovered this distribution option on the company detail page totally random, while I searched for competing products.
I hope these offers will move to the distribution page, because they are hard to find, if you don't know where they are.

+1

also i have ton of deals now with 15% cut on sales, but have no idea if i make profit or lose money, i feel like the internet cost went up, from 7m => 13m ~ , but it is not clear where in the income screen it shows your cut, will it be part of "deals"? cuz my deals number didnt change at all... i do see in the graph that my market share went up drastically from 60%~ => 99%, but not sure how much i make from selling other company`s products and if it is worth the effort :) thoughts?

I am struggeling too to see if I am making profit with my digital distribution deals. Feels like I am losing a lot of money with it.

I'm pretty sure my digitilal distribution was instituted around the year 2000. My income definitely increased due to my digital market deals but i'm almost positive the internet cost increased exponentially more than the boost to income.
