Oh ok. Maybe it's just a bug, then.
I thought maybe I was too stupid to figure out how to get it to work
I thought I did that tho? Let me give it another shot and see if I can get it to work.
Although an issue I've run into is that they don't auto select all the new features so I have to manually cancel the project and add a new one to the queue with the features I want.
What I do is create a Project with all the teams and the option to only create sequels, do no tick "Original IP" and the set the slider to 150% - 200% of... I have not idea of what exactly, but I'm sure you'd be able to enlighten me.
Then I open the window to develop a new piece of software from an Original IP (let's say "RPG") to create a sequel ("RPG 2"), choose what I want in it (although I assume the point of project management is to figure this out for themselves, at least for "RPG 3" and so on) and instead of choosing "Develop", I choose "Project Management" and assign it to the leader of the project I created earlier.
After some time the message will appear, that I need to assign an intitial design to the project which in my mind, I had already done. This message will appear every few months and something that should take less than a year to develop in outstanding quality according to the stats is, after some development, due to release in four to five years with the message popping up every few months, that I need to assign an initial design.
What are the mechanics behind this? I must admit that I never waited for them to finish and took over the project for various reasons. Most importantly: have no idea what on earth would take them so long and I don't have any insight into what they are doing.
The game is great and I have spent far too many hours playing it because I do enjoy it a lot, apart from this the project management section, which I can't get my head around. I'm looking forward in aticipation for the next set of new features to be added. And of course, I'd love to learn more of how to work with project management in the way intended by the devs in the mean time.
I am, btw, running the latest Beta of the game.
