Too many teammembers
What exactly reduced efficiency: Having too many people in a team or too many in a project.
If requirement are 4 programmers and I put two teams with 4 programmers onto the project but have them work in non-overlapping shifts, will that still be too many and decrease efficiency?

From real life experience, yeah, more people working on a project decreases efficiency. Even in production with two shifts, people would change machine settings to their liking (although, these were wire bonding machines for integrated circuits and sort of a "personal" machine)..

I can understand how that may be true in real life, but is that how alpha 9 runs it? Also, will too many team members actually slow a project, or will the gains of additional workers simply be less noticeable?

My thoughts exactly: Is this the way the game works? Plus, will it notice that if I put at team of let's say 5 on a project for 2 but three people are away on training the whole time that there is no drag?

i would be pretty happy too if coredumping respondes to this.
I had some big hits recently and now i want to get into the processor business.
Im planing to get 6 Teams for that.
2x 0-8am workers
2x 8am - 16pm workers
2x 16pm - 0am workers
The reason for having 6 instead of 3 teams is that they need to go on holiday but i want to produce the full year. though that project needs about 22 ppl per team ( 15programmers, 5 designers, 2 artists) i would be really glad to know if its the same as in the other builds of Software Inc that more Workers than recommended are dumbing your Quality and Time.

in every one of my experiences (126 hours into this game) the answer is yes. I've also found that 1 team with the happy medium (numbers of employees) will complete a project faster than said team split into 2 or 3. This can be easily tested by saving your game right before beginning production and making yourself a few scenarios to run thru. Throw one team at it, mark down your results. Reload the game, throw same team split into two teams, mark your results. etc etc.

Try to have one team with high skills. Better to be short members then over. Efficency and skill determine speed and accuracy.
