Can't run game - OpenGL?
Version: V 0.5.0
System: 6 CPU cores detected.
System: Generic
System: OpenGL version 1.1.1 SGI
Exanima: This system does not meet the minimum requirements to run Sui Generis. Updating the graphics driver may solve the problem.

I can see that I'am not the only one with this issue... any suggestion?

Anyone manage to resolve it?

I'm not using any antyvirus program and I have Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 with latest driver. I even reintsalled it...

I hope that developers will look for some resolution.

best regards!

Same problem, waiting for a fix too.

Just to confirm, this also occurs for me. Exact same error message as above, though my system has 4 cores and not 6.

I do have to mention that the graphics card is an old GTX 260 which i believe supports OpenGL 2.1 on the hardware level and OpenGL 3.0 though the NVIDIA drivers (Not sure about that last one) so if the game uses openGL 4.0 that would already explain my issues. Other OpenGL capable applications (The first that comes to mind is Starbound) run just fine on my system.

Ironically the game also runs fine on a spare laptop with Inter HD 4400 graphics.

According to your log file you have an SGI OpenGL implementation from 1997 installed on your system. This is probably due to some old and irresponsible indie game messing with your system.

You may be able to get around the problem by finding OpenGL.dll (not opengl32.dll) somewhere in your Windows folder (including subfolders) and renaming it. If this does solve the problem you should consider getting a copy of the original OpenGL.dll and restoring it.

Sounds promising.. On my way to blow it up!

Edit - Issue resolved! I just replaced it with new openGL.dll. Thank you for your time..

I can confirm that the fix posted above also worked wonders for me - it even fixed an issue i had with another OpenGL based game.

So, in case anyone else receives this error and searches trough the forums, this is a step-by-step guide of what i did to fix it on my system (Solution itself by Bare Mettle, up two posts above)

Step-by-step
  • The error you receive when starting the game is "This system does not meet the minimum requirements to run Sui Generis. Updating the graphics driver may solve the problem". If so, continue to the next step.
  • Navigate to your windows folder, usually "C:\Windows\". If you aren't certain where its installed just navigate to %Systemdrive%\Windows.
  • Search for "Opengl.dll" (Not OpenGL32.dll) in this folder. You will likely find it in the System32 or SysWow64 folder.
  • If you find it right click it, select properties, look at the "Details" tab. In my case the "File Version" was 1.1.1.0 and the Date Modified 1999. If your version is below 4.5.7.36 it may be worth continuing as mentioned below.
  • Find a replacement DLL. I used this link ( http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?opengl ). Virustotal comes up blank for the downloaded file so it should be safe.
  • Rename the currently EXISTING file to Opengl.dll.old
  • Copy the DLL file you downloaded to the folder the Opengl.dll.old file is in.
  • Try running the game.

If everything goes well you should have a running game, or at least not the same error. If anything goes awry with the new DLL just delete or rename the downloaded DLL and rename your "Opengl.dll.old" back to "Opengl.dll".

I hope this proves usefull for someone. :-)

What if you don't have Opengl.dll? Like I have Opengl32.dll but not the other one and I checked both System32 and SysWow64 and no Opengl.dll. Please help I really wan to play this game...

Never mind, problem solved. Just needed to upgrade my driver (which has been in need of that for a long time) :steamhappy:

Have you tried simply updating to the latest drivers downloaded directly from:
