We're Part of the Curious Odyssey Event, meant to celebrate story-driven, intelligent games with a focus on contemplative gameplay rather than twitch controls. Celebrating new adventure genres, as well as encapsulating point and click, and nostalgic games.

Demo Patch 3 - German Loca Edition

🐢 Demo Patch #3! 🐢

A Week in and we got around to add a few things with everyone's feedback:

Added German localization! You can choose your language in the main menu by clicking on the flags
Polished Evidence Board. We got a lot of feedback that the purpose of the evidence board seemed unclear and turned out to be less of a help than we wanted it to be. So we adjusted it a bit to make it more clear as to what information is being displayed and what information is needed to progress. We're very curious what the thoughts are on this change!
If you logged into the terminal, it stays logged in now. Aeternian UX is the best on the island!
Reworked Prologue secrets: there is now only one and with stronger hints to it. Find the damn tutorial secret!
smaller dialogue changes and general polish around some graphics and 3D models!
Changed visuals of first corridor
Improvement of the user experience for using the deduction mode. Objects now stay locked in, and your text also stays, and you can make your next input immediately

Things we didn't get in yet, but are working on:

fix to the hardware bug of opening cupboards
making the intro clickable to enjoy it at your own pace, but we made it a bit slower for now!
bugs involving the LLM for some evidence in chapter 2
scrolling through the object list in the deduction mode

That's it for now! We hope that some of these changes will lower the feeling of being lost and now knowing what to do next at certain points in the demo. Please keep the feedback coming if you have more! We want it allll

On another note, we found out that tomorrow is "Welt-Mettbrötchen-Tag", so basically Mett Day (iykyk), please gift your loved ones some raw meat, thank you very much.

Deduction Evaluation?

Came across this game in the Women's Day showcase, think it's really neat to see a usage of a LLM that feels thoughtful and like it solves a problem! Given how even the best detective games can often boil down to just trying every option if you're not engaging with them in good faith. I was wondering though (and forgive me if this is something that's already been considered and simply isn't feasible), but is there any potential that in the future the deductions might be evaluated locally rather than relyi...
