Do research samples still respawn

Hi, Im asking if the research sample on rocks and plants still respawn after a set amount of time. Last time I played I set up an auto byte farm of Glacio but in my new playthrough it doesn't seem like the mineral research samples are respawning. Ive given plenty of time on and off the planet but nothing. I asking if this was changed so they dont respawn or that I need just wait more.
